Indiana University Health Names New CIO

Indiana University Health has named William F. McConnell, Jr., senior vice president and CIO of Indiana University (IU) Health.

“I am very pleased to have someone of Bill’s caliber and experience joining our organization during this transformational time in healthcare,” said Dan Evans, president and CEO, IU Health. “Bill has been a significant contributor to several prominent businesses in our community and we look forward to his leadership in advancing our information systems and technology capabilities so we may provide a satisfying experience to our patients and healthcare partners.”

McConnell has experience in business management and consulting, and IS management. Most recently, McConnell was president and CEO of an Indianapolis start-up company, FlowCo. Prior to that, he was a senior vice president of Boston Scientific Cardiac Rhythm Management in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a member of the Boston Scientific executive committee. For nine years, beginning in 1998, he served as vice president and CIO for Guidant Corp., and from 1990 to 1996, he held the position of senior vice president and CIO, Worldwide, for Resort Condominiums International. McConnell also worked for Arthur Andersen in Indianapolis where he was a managing partner.
