Cerner CEO: Make-or-break decade

October 12, 2011

The next decade is going to be make-or-break for health care providers in terms of controlling the exploding cost of healthcare, the Kansas City Business Journal reported.

That was the message Cerner CEO Neal Patterson gave yestetrday during a keynote address to some of the 10,000 customers, partners and employees gathered this week at the North Kansas City-based company’s annual conference at Bartle Hall.

As an inspiration for that change, Patterson repeatedly brought up Apple founder and CEO Steve Jobs, whose death last week he said was felt even in health care.

“He brought the individual into technology,” Patterson said.
