The Doctor was a Pilot

It sounds like something out of my favorite movie, “Catch Me if You Can,” the story about Frank Abignale. The Detroit Fress Press is reporting about the 15-year charade in which William Hamman passed himself off as a doctor.

Hamman from Michigan lined up millions of dollars in research grants and consulting fees and salaries at Western Michigan University and Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak directing simulated medical exercises to train hospital staffers. He never treated patients and did not apply for physician admitting privileges at Beaumont, the newspaper reported.
