Chemical Engineer By Training, Now Hospital CEO

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting today that Carolyn Jackson, the new CEO at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, took a different career path to an executive post in health care: chemical engineering.

Jackson, a Newark, Delaware, native, left the University of Delaware with an engineering degree and a career goal of being a plant manager. She liked the idea of running her own show.
